ISBM 2026 Abstract Submission Guidelines
ISBM seeks abstract submissions highlighting science that advances quantification of bone and bone-associated tissues from the molecular to macro-scale using quantitative preclinical and clinical imaging. Abstracts focused on advances in method development including visualization, quantification, and analysis techniques are welcome.
Submission Guidelines: Abstracts should be submitted in .pdf format. The submission deadline for oral presentation and/or poster presentation is March 1st, 2026 by midnight. Please submit abstracts to isbm.society@gmail.com with “ISBM 2026 abstract submission” in the email title.
Abstracts and ISBM Award Submission: If you are submitting materials to be considered for a 2026 ISBM award, please include these materials with your abstract submission and an email title “ISBM 2026 abstract and award submission.”
Please use following guidelines in preparation for submitting.
- Abstract Title
- Make the title brief, clearly indicating the nature of the investigation.
- Abstract Content
- Abstracts should be no more than 2500 characters (not including spaces). This does not include title, authors, or figure captions.
- Abstracts need to be submitted in English.
- All authors and affiliations should be included.
- Please identify the presenting author.
- If you are submitting more than one abstract, the abstracts may NOT overlap significantly in content
- Clearly organize content of the abstract which includes: purpose, materials and methods, results, and conclusions. Sufficient detail should be included to assess scientific rigor.
- Acceptable abbreviations may be used without definition. Some standard abbreviations may be unfamiliar to large numbers of readers; at the author’s discretion, these may also be defined. Abbreviations not listed in the cited references above must be defined by placing them in parentheses after the full word the first time they appear.
- Graphics and Tables
- You may include one image in your abstract submission. These could include graphical representations or tables of data or any methodological images that represent data collection processes.
- Please provide a clear and explanatory caption for any figures included.

Deadline: April 30, 2026
Late-breaking abstract submissions will be reviewed and eligible for poster presentations only.
Late-breaking abstract guidelines: Please follow the same abstract guidelines outlined above. Submit your abstract directly to ISBM by emailing it in PDF format to isbm.society@gmail.com by midnight on April 30, 2026. No fees apply (free). Late-breaking abstracts will be eligible for poster presentation only.
